Many situations are morally gray, and you are forced to ignore many smaller issues to deal with the murder you are investigating. I'll attempt to not spoil *too much* of the game here, but I'm going to break this down into sections because there are so many challenging aspects to it.ĭisco Elysium deals mainly with political themes and the impact of war and poverty on ordinary people. Uniquely, much of the dialogue is internal, with the character choosing to examine his thoughts in a way that ultimately informs who he is. In Disco Elysium, you play a man who wakes up without his memory following a breakdown and a likely alcohol and drug overdose, only to be informed by strangers that he is a detective investigating a lynching in an extremely deprived post-war neighbourhood. While it deals with politics in a way which can be enlightening, it is a blunt instrument and is not appropriate for young people who have shown an interest in political extremism, especially the alt-right. It is unlikely to be suitable for those experiencing an episode of severe mental illness, especially if this includes derealisation or depersonalisation. TL DR: This game is NOT suitable for younger teenagers or children. Parents should also be aware that several characters discuss sex in frank terms, with words like "c-t," "c-k," and "d-k." Show more Some influential dialogue choices may lead to other characters getting hurt or killed. There's no combat, but players will encounter scenes with dead bodies, blood, and graphic language describing them. Additional dialogue options, frequently peppered with strong language including the "F" word, allow players to decide if his interactions with other characters will be professional and respectful, or if he plays the part of a racist, classist, fascist jerk (often with consequences), or if he ends up falling somewhere in between. The player can choose whether or not he stays sober or succumbs to these desires. He must investigate a murder case while trying to remember who he is, all the while constantly tempted by parts of himself that want to indulge in drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes. Players assume the role of a detective who's also an alcoholic and addict, having intoxicated himself to the point of amnesia. It's a more complete edition of the critically acclaimed Disco Elysium, adding new missions, voiced dialogue, and support for gamepads. I need to wait for some hopefully incoming patches but so far I dont see this game being more then an 7 to 8 for me and will go with a 7 at the moment because especially the reading experience is bad (and some parts of the game are not vocalized).Parents need to know that Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is a narrative role-playing game available for download on the Windows PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The price is definitely a pro for me but some game mechanics and the very bad talent introduction feels like a let down for me. I know this will be an unpopular opinion but the game seems overrated especially for the low effort on the console port. Disco Elysium is innovative and the story is compelling although there is also a lot of useless crap inside of it if you look at it objectively. The controls are not optimized at all for consoles and the text options are really bad considering that you basically read thext 99.9% of the time. How can this game be a 93 when it has numerous bugs (in a more or less second launch) and takes ages to load on a system where even Spiderman with RT can delivery less then 4 seconds of load time. How can this game be a 93 when it has numerous bugs (in a more or less second launch) and takes I feel like game journalism is basically dead. I feel like game journalism is basically dead.
